Students with disabilities who have completed the academic requirements for a Standard Diploma and who are in need of additional work-related transition skills are eligible to defer receipt of their diploma to participate in a work study program and apply to ESE Transition School. Selected students will need to withdraw from their zoned school and will be enrolled in ESE Transition School.

Student selection for TransitionU is competitive. Documented successful work experience is preferred but not required. Students who have completed all requirements for a Standard Diploma and have opted to defer receipt of their diploma to participate in a work study program are eligible to apply. The post high plus school transition classes are partnerships with area businesses in retail, hospitality, and on campus jobs through UCF. Selected students must be in compliance with all required business policies such as dress code and rules of conduct. Transportation to the post high plus sites is provided through EverDriven, a car service vetted by OCPS Transportation.

Logistics:
5 days/week, full school day
2-3 hours/day in a business, 2-3 hours/day in work experience labs, community based
instruction, and direct instruction in social and independent living skills
Transportation provided
Teacher and Employment Specialist provided by OCPS
